Young musicians took to the stage to showcase everything they’ve learned this year, performing for family, friends and special guests while celebrating their hard work, progress and dedication.
Across the country, attendees were treated to performances from Big Noise groups and ensembles, big and small, made up of participants and community members of all ages, including choirs, orchestras, chamber music groups and adult community orchestras.
Our amazing Big Noise performers showed off all they have learned over the past year, performing impressive and varied programmes of all types of music, featuring everything from the music of Beethoven to scores from film and TV, and everything from classic songs from the worlds of soul and pop to much loved Big Noise favourites such as 'Mission Mars'.
Several centres also said a fond farewell to members moving on to exciting new adventures after leaving school.
While they'll be missed, they’ll always be part of their Big Noise community and we look forward to welcoming them back for visits and music-making in the future.
Viki, who graduated from Big Noise Torry at their summer concert, said:
“Big Noise has helped me gain confidence being on stage and performing in front of people. It helps me socialise with people, connect with people and for me to learn musical skills and play an instrument.”
“I think if I didn’t have that I probably wouldn’t have come out of my shell. It's given me that stepping stone to help me prepare for college and for my future.”
Sara, who was playing violin in Big Noise Raploch's concert, said:
“At Big Noise, you get to go and do all these concerts with important people like the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, and it makes me feel important too. I feel good meeting new people.
“Without Big Noise I think my life would be boring. I would probably be lonely because a lot of my pals are from Big Noise.
“I’m taking music in S4-S6 and I’m going to try to get into Glasgow University, Edinburgh University or the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland to study music. I’d love to work at Big Noise as a musician one day. I’d love to play with the RSNO one day.”
