Between six Big Noise programmes, almost 450 children and young people, aged 6 to 18, took part in our spring holiday clubs this year, which provide families with a safe and fun place for their children to spend the school holidays.
Our Holiday Clubs are completely free for all of our children and young people to attend, and all participants are provided with healthy meals and snacks, as well as the opportunity to take part in a range of fun activities and trips.
Young people took part in a whole host of activities over the break, including playing rounders, doing obstacle courses, a range of arts and crafts, biscuit decorating, and talent shows – alongside their regular music lessons.
Older participants were also invited to take part in our Big Noise United Orchestra concert and residential trip, which you can read all about here.
Eva, aged 9, who took part in Big Noise Wester Hailes’ holiday club, said:
“My favourite part about coming to holiday club is getting to play my instrument all the time. It gives you something to do when there’s no school on, and there’s lots of different options so it’s really fun.
I have loved playing all the games with my friends and playing with play-dough.”
Bella, aged 7, who also took part in the holiday club, said:
“We play lots of fun songs like Chocolate Treats and Jelly on a Plate. I love playing them on my viola and learning new things about music.
I really like seeing my friends at holiday club when we’re not in school, and we get to do lots of fun things like decorating biscuits and watching movies.”
