Torry Youngsters perform at Cowdray Hall

Performing at Aberdeen's Cowdray Hall

Young people from Torry hit all the right notes earlier in March as they showcased their musical skills with a concert at Aberdeen’s prestigious Cowdray Hall.

12 of our young musicians, all aged between 12 and 17, performed at the concert at the Cowdray Hall as part of Aberdeen Archives, Gallery & Museums Lunchbreak Concert series.

The group performed the programme ‘From Britten to Bernstein’, which featured music from Benjamin Britten’s ‘Simple Symphony’ and from Leonard Bernstein’s ‘West Side Story’.

A lunchbreak treat for the people of Aberdeen

Maria, aged 16, said:

"Walking on stage at Cowdray Hall felt really surreal and a bit scary at first. Seeing a full audience made the performance feel even more special.”

Sandra, aged 17, said:

“Playing in Cowdray Hall was exciting. The sound in the hall made our music feel like an even bigger orchestra.”
