Verónica was born in Venezuela where she received her early musical training in Falcón Núcleo of El Sistema. At the age of nine she gave her debut concert with the Orquesta Sinfónica de Falcón and later became principal of the second violins until 1994.
In 1995 became leader and assistant conductor of the Orquesta Sinfónica del Zulia and professor of violin at the Conservatoire “Jose Luis Paz” in Maracaibo until 2004.
Verónica has recently obtained her BMus in performance at the Instituto Universitario de Estudios Musicales (IUDEM) in Caracas. In June 2005 she was invited to perform with the Royal Oman Symphony Orchestra (Sultanate of Oman, Middle East), and in November 2006.
I did not pick the violin, my teachers at El Sistema assigned it to me but I liked the sound from the very beginning. At the start was very difficult and so unnatural. One day I watched an episode from TOP CAT my favourite comic at the moment and when Benny the Ball played the violin I thought “if he can do it I CAN DO IT AS WELL!”
