Josip Petrac

JosipJosip Petrac, cellist, earned his undergraduate music degree at Zagreb University, before winning scholarships to study in the USA, completing a Masters at Georgia State University and a Doctorate at the University of Georgia. He has performed throughout Europe and the USA, both as principal cellist with a number of orchestras and as a soloist, appearing most notably at  Carnegie Hall in New York and on recordings for Phoenix records. Josip has over thirteen years’ experience as a lower strings teacher, having taught in specialised music schools in Croatia and a number of colleges in the USA. Since moving to Scotland in 2009, he has joined the East Ayrshire music service as a cello teacher.
