Glasgow-born pianist Kathleen McPhail teaches musicianship for Big Noise. She began to play at the age of 10 and went on to graduate from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in 2006 before embarking on her MMus at the Royal Irish Academy of Music.
While a student at the RIAM, Kathleen was the recipient of college’s first Erasmus Scholarship which enabled her enter the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris for the second year of her Masters.
Following the completion of her studies in Paris, Kathleen returned to Ireland where she worked as an pianist, examiner, teacher and workshop leader for a further four years. Kathleen also has a keen interest in jazz and traditional singing and is now based back home in Glasgow.
